Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, will head the Kingdom’s delegation to the Camp David Summit being hosted by US President Barack Obama for GCC leaders on May 14.

In a statement to the media on Sunday, Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir said the crown prince would represent Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman as the latter would be occupied with domestic engagements.

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will also take part in the summit.

“The US-GCC summit will be coinciding with the humanitarian cease-fire in Yemen,” he said. “There is also the opening of the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Action Center,” said Al-Jubeir.

He added: “The Kingdom’s participation in the summit stems from its keenness to achieve peace and stability in Yemen and the speeding up of relief and humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people.”
