Prince Miteb inaugurates HQ for special security units
National Guard Minister Prince Miteb bin Abdullah has lauded the capabilities of Saudi defense forces achieved with the support of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the supreme commander of all military forces.
The National Guard has been supporting and developing its military forces to fulfill its duty to protect the homeland and people, the prince said while inaugurating a project for the buildings and camps of units of the National Guard’s special security force in Riyadh recently.
The prince was briefed by Undersecretary for Technical Affairs Abdul Aziz Al-Jarrah on the project comprising the regimental command, camps of the first anti-riot battalion and the first special security battalion.
The project includes buildings for command and control, brigade commands, officers’ club, housing for officers, dormitories for privates, fields for training and sports, eating areas and mosques, in addition to facilities for support services.
The prince toured the project and inspected a guard of honor by the regimental units. He also spoke at the function organized on the occasion, and viewed drills displaying various units’ skills to combat terrorism, conduct raids and protect important people. Anti-riot vehicles equipped with the most-advanced devices and weaponry, in addition to vehicles that can detect and defuse explosives were also displayed.
The prince also honored the regiment’s outstanding officers during the function.
