Syrian state media denied reports Turkish military jets had shot down a Syrian aircraft, saying what had been shot down was a small, remotely controlled surveillance drone.Turkey’s NTV news channel said military jets had shot down a Syrian aircraft that had violated Turkish airspace. The Syrian denial was carried in a headline flashed on state television.

It was not immediately clear what kind of aircraft it was. It subsequently crashed into Syrian territory, NTV news channel reported.
