EP sets aside land for youth businesses
The Eastern Province (EP) Mayoralty is preparing to launch 211 investment locations dedicated to projects of young businessmen and women in the province according to the directives of EP Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif.
Fahad Al-Jubeir, EP mayor, said that the mayoralty has allocated this land in the support services area dedicated for youth investment projects to support small- and medium-sized enterprises. “Many young people who obtained loans from various government lending funds, supported this type of projects, have registered to get investment sites for setting up their establishments,” the mayor stated, stressing that the mayoralty is keen to encourage serious youths as a part of its support for this category. Al-Jubeir pointed out that the mayoralty has worked on the allocation of this land within new schemes, taking into account the provision of all services to serve the projects which will be held there. He said: “The mayoralty is currently working on coordination with the Asharqia Chamber to arrange the presented applications, to provide the land for public and private entities for projects serving the citizens.” The municipality is a strategic partner in its work with all governmental and private institutions in the region in order to serve all citizens, he said. Ziad Al-Suwaidan, director-general of the EP Department for Investment Development, said: “The allocated land spaces range between 700 to 1,000 square meters in the Dammam scheme, where asphalting works have been recently completed to start the allocation procedures.” “During the next phase, coordination will be held with the chamber represented in youth work councils for considering applications to ensure the seriousness of the applicants,” Al-Suwaidan added. He stressed the keenness of the municipality to provide suitable investment opportunities for various categories and segments of society. |
