Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al- Asheikh has called for support to a new TV program to be launched during Ramadan to raise funds for charity.

He invited all people to donate to the program called “Al-Khair Yagmana” or “Gathering for Happiness” and thanked Al Margab Saudi TV for airing the program on the first day of Ramadan.

The grand mufti, who is also the general president for scientific researches and fatwa, will be among prominent individuals who will participate in the program.

Mohsin Shaikh Al-Hassan, program host, said that Sheikh Abdul Mohsen Al Hokair, called the “Emperor of Tourism” because of the numerous hotels he owns, has allowed the use of Al Hokair Land Theater for the program recording.

Al-Hassan said that other invited participants include local football superstars from 18 teams, 11 poets from different provinces, among others.

“Scholars will talk about our duties during Ramadan. Additionally, four universities also offered to disseminate information about the program. Gradually, interest in the program has intensified and blessings will be given to those who help,” Al-Hassan said. A cultural exhibition showing gifted artists’ works will also be held. The proceeds of the paintings will be given to the humanitarian organizations participating in the program. These organizations will in turn give the donations to charity.
