The Israeli military says it carried out an airstrike in the Gaza Strip in response to the latest rocket attack toward southern Israel, according to the Associated Press.

There were reported casualties in Sunday morning’s strike which comes on the heels of the third rocket attack from Gaza in the past two weeks.

Israel announced that its border crossings into Gaza will be shut down in response to the latest incident.

A Salafist group that supports the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) took responsibility for Saturday’s rocket attack. The group is mired in a struggle with Gaza’s Hamas rulers.

Israel considers Gaza’s Hamas rulers responsible for any attacks originating from the area they control.

Rocket fire has mostly subsided since last summer’s war between Hamas and Israel.
