The National Anti-corruption Commission (Nazaha) recently launched an awareness campaign against corruption in Riyadh.

The National Anti-corruption Commission (Nazaha) will be launching the second phase of its public awareness campaign ‘Our Homeland is our Trust’ targeting state and private sector workers.

Nazaha’s spokesperson, Abdulrahman Al-Ajlan, said the move, in collaboration with the Riyadh Governorate, would highlight the importance of tackling corruption in the workplace.

He said this was an extension of the two-month national campaign launched by the Riyadh Governorate last year. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman had recently stated that the country’s growth depended on transparent and accountable practices, he said.

Al-Ajlan said the Nazaha’s anti-corruption drive in government has already helped to improve productivity and monitoring mechanisms at all levels.

He said the awareness campaign has already included seminars and workshops, and direct meetings with government officials, citizens, students and the youth. It has changed the mindset of many people, he said.

This week the Nazaha launched a campaign targeting families and youngsters under the theme ‘Family Values and Building Integrity,’ during which the Nazaha President Khaled Al-Muhaisin emphasized the need to protect public money, facilities and property.

He also urged government and private institutions to support research and studies into anti-graft measures.
