Haj services ‘will be transparent’
Efforts are under way to electronically handle all Haj-related works to achieve speed and accuracy, as well as reduce costs an bring in transparency, Haj Minister Bandar Al-Hajjar has said.
Speaking at a workshop in Jeddah on Sunday, Hajjar said the ministry also aims to be more transparent and clear with regard to all services, prices and contracts for the Haj season. Deputy ministers and ministry officials, the Coordinating Council for Local Pilgrims, National Committee for Haj and Umrah, and representatives of two local Haj companies attended the workshop. Prior to issuing the finalized electronic booking system, he said the ministry presented it to a number of Haj companies for local pilgrims for their inputs, the minister said. Ministry officials and two Haj companies discussed certain ideas and concerns, while representatives of the Haj companies highlighted the obstacles in their work and urged the minister to remove them. Discussions were held on the early electronic booking system and program for citizens and residents wishing to perform Haj, as well as the findings of a study into the qualitative and quantitative classification of services offered to local pilgrims. Hajjar said the aim is to ensure that pilgrims can register and pay for Haj services electronically while protecting the rights of pilgrims and companies. “It is also aimed at establishing a regulatory system in case of defaults or conflicts with regard to contracts, services or prices.” Hajar said the ministry also aims to achieve good performance and provide top quality services with decent profits, as well as to provide the opportunity too all residents and citizens to benefit from the program. |
