Two million Red Crescent leaflets to guide pilgrims
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) is preparing for this year’s Haj season by printing 2 million health awareness leaflets for dissemination among pilgrims to educate them about how to avoid illnesses during their visit. Additionally, the SRCA is also preparing 500,000 flyers, booklets and banners to be distributed to pilgrims and other guests.
The messages will also be posted on social networking sites, and distributed among paramedics, volunteers and employees of health centers at the holy sites. Included in the messages will be guidance about how to treat various ailments such as diabetes, upper respiratory infections, sunstroke cases, abrasion, skin diseases and asthma.
The messages come as part of the combined efforts of various Saudi emergency service providers which will all be working to keep people healthy during the pilgrimage season. Additionally, the Saudi Telecom Company (STC) will be involved in the dissemination of health advice and information in order to help reach as many pilgrims as possible.
The SRCA has urged all pilgrims to visit the website https://www.srca.org.sa/, or to search for their page on social networking platforms for guidance and information about the emergency services relevant to them.
