Houthi militant walks inside the al-Balili mosque after two bombings hit the mosque in Yemen’s capital Sanaa.

Two suicide bombers blew themselves up at a mosque run by Yemen’s Houthi group in the capital Sanaa on Thursday, the first day of the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday, causing many casualties, witnesses said.

The incident took place at the Blili mosque near a police academy, according to witnesses, some of whom reported of deaths and wounded.

At least 15 people were killed in the explosion, reported Al Arabiya News Channel.

No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

An alliance of Arab states intervened in the impoverished country’s civil war in March with the aim of restoring Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his internationally recognized government, and to help drive out Iranian-allied Houthi militias.
