Cop among 3 slain in attacks on police posts

Gunmen opened fire on two police posts in the northwestern of the Kingdom, killing two civilians and a policeman, SPA said on Friday.

It said two masked assailants shot dead two Saudis in Al-Shamli, in the Hail region, on Thursday and a gunman killed a policeman at the traffic police station in a second attack in the town half an hour later.

The news agency gave no motives for the attacks but said an investigation has been opened.

The two civilians were attacked at 3:30 p.m., while Sergeant Abdulelah Saud Brak Al-Rashidi was shot around 4 p.m.

In a related issue, new details have emerged about the citizen who appeared in a video being circulated on social media. The video featured the man announcing his allegiance to Daesh before killing his cousin who joined the Saudi forces recently.

Sources said the citizen was unemployed and was not very religious. Unfortunately his family didn’t notice any change in his behavior.
