The Mina stampede was a tragic incident where many people lost their loved ones, 717 people lost their lives, more than 800 were injured, and many children lost their parents.

The lost child center at the holy sites received more than 30 children after Thursday’s stampede in Mina. The head of the women’s volunteer scout team, Al-Anoud Al-Huti, said that 24 children were handed back to their parents. She said that the center received more than 40 calls about lost children after the stampede.

Abdul Salaam, son of Pakistani national Muhammad Hashim, went missing after the stampede on Thursday. He was right at the place of the incident when he lost his parents.

Wasim Shahid Bukhari, media coordinator of Pakistan Haj Volunteer Group (PHVG) told Arab News that the PHVG members found five-year-old Abdul Salaam from DG Khan, three-year-old Yahya Shah of Peshawar, and a woman named Sayed Bibi, wife of Noor Rahman, who lost their way and relatives during the stampede.

“Our volunteers tried to find their parents and relatives, which was possible after a hard search; we reunited the children and parents, and Sayed Bibi to her husband, by the grace of Allah, at the headquarters of PVHG in Mina,” he said.

He said that PVHG volunteers will continue providing their services even after the Mina incident, as this year more than 3,000 PHVG volunteers are there to provide their services to the pilgrims during Haj.

He further said that an elderly woman, Haleema Bibi, wife of Nazeer Ahmed, was handed over today to her son Ramzan, working as an electrician in Riyadh, at the headquarter of PVHG. She was also found in Mina after the stampede.

The pilgrims thanked the PHVG volunteers for their efforts and help.

Injured women and children were admitted to Mustashfa Al-Wilada (Children’s Hospital) on Taif Road in Makkah.

The Saudi Ministry of Health has posted pictures of unidentified stampede victims at the Al-Noor Hospital in Makkah. Additional unidentified bodies are also kept at King Faisal Hospital in Makkah.

Pakistanis who are looking for their missing relatives are requested to visit Al-Noor Hospital immediately.
