King Saud Medical City (KSMC) launched a campaign recently to thank the country’s security officers for keeping the country safe.

“The campaign was launched as a way to express our gratitude to all the security officers who are serving the nation,” said Saleh Al-Tamimi, KSMC’s director.

Accompanied by journalists, staff from the hospital went out into the city to meet with officers on duty, and give them bouquets as a gesture of their appreciation, he said.

He said many of them “have shed precious blood and lost life and limb to maintain peace and security in the Kingdom.” He said the campaign was “just a small effort” to recognize their service to the nation.

Al-Tamimi said citizens and expatriates can go about their business knowing that they are safe from the acts of extremists. He said the officers are involved in protecting the country’s borders, and preventing intruders from trying to terrorize the community.

He said several soldiers had lost their lives protecting the country against foreign intruders, in reference to those fighting against Houthi militants and their supporters. Al-Tamimi said the campaign would also be highlighted on social media sites.
