GCC seeks joint anti-terror system

Justice ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have recommended the formation of a joint system to fight terrorism, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

Winding up their 27th meeting in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, the ministers formulated a draft proposal to extradite criminals between GCC countries. They also agreed on a proposal presented by the GCC secretariat to sign legal and judicial agreements with other international groupings.

Earlier, Qatari Minister of Justice Hasan bin Lahdan Al-Muhannadi welcomed the delegations and said the session tackled common interests. Hamad bin Rashid Al-Murri, assistant secretary general of the GCC countries, thanked the organizers and those who attended.

Saudi Justice Minister Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Samaani focused on the importance of the meeting and thanked Qatar for the good reception and arrangements.

Later, the ministers launched the website of the committee of the GCC justice ministers.
