KFIA bags two international prizes this year

The King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) recently received a prize as part of the Aviation Achievement Awards (AAA) for the rapid development of the civil aviation industry. It also received the International Certificate of Quality in the services provided by the Airports Council International (ACI).

Yousef Al-Dhaheri, the KFIA’s director general, said: “The KFIA management team was able to achieve impressive growth in terms of air and commercial traffic, serving 68 local and international destinations, and providing investment space totaling 11,000 square meters inside the passenger terminal, as well as outside.”

According to Al-Dhaheri, the number of passengers traveling through KFIA reached 8.5 million in 2014, and is expected to surpass 9.3 million by the end of 2015.

On the backdrop of the international awards bestowed on KFIA recently, Dhaheri announced that over the coming months, the airport will provide several new services to be announced soon, and also noted that the authorities welcome any proposal to further enhance the services provided at the airport even more.

He also called on all businessmen and investors to take advantage of the investment opportunities provided by the airport management to promote the areas surrounding the airport, and in the Eastern Province generally.
