A senior Iranian official has praised the Kingdom for its services provided to pilgrims during this year’s Haj.

Peer Husain, adviser to the Iranian health minister and head of the medical office for Iranian pilgrims, said he appreciated the organization of the Saudi Ministry of Health.

He made the remarks in a meeting Thursday between his delegation and Saudi health officials including Mustafa bin Jameel Baljoon, director general of health affairs in Makkah, and Mohammed bin Hamid Al-Muhmadi, head of the medical missions committee.

The Iranian delegation thanked the Saudi government for the facilities provided to Iranian pilgrims, including assistance to those who were sick and needed medicine, and transport to the holy sites.

Husain said he appreciated the treatment provided at the intensive care units of government hospitals, and transport of pilgrims to King Abdulaziz International Airport on fully equipped ambulances.

Baljoon said the Saudi Health Ministry was under strict orders from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the leadership to ensure the Haj was safe for all.

He said 304 bodies have been sent to Tehran, while efforts were underway to identify the rest of the dead. Six Iranians were buried in Makkah with the consent of Iranian officials, he said.
