An official at the Labor Ministry has announced that Saudization in farming, fisheries and livestock industries has exceeded 90 percent.

The official, who preferred anonymity, said that all establishments listed in the registries of the Labor Ministry are subjected to the Saudization (Nitaqat) program and its provisions, with requirements differing with regard to the size of establishments. He said agriculture, fisheries, livestock and horse-rearing have almost achieved full nationalization.

In terms of the inspection rounds being conducted to follow up on these activities, the official said that the inspection teams at the Ministry are committed to conducting regular tours to ensure the compliance of these establishments with the labor system, and the application of the necessary heath and professional safety measures on all activities.

On the reduction of nationalization ratios, the official said that the decision to amend these ratios will only apply after making sure that all partners completely grasp the new amendments approved recently by the Cabinet, in order to enable the parties to understand these amendments and adapt to them properly. The amendments are expected to have positive effects on the development of the contractual relationship between the establishment and the employee.
