A mother-daughter duo has been arrested for their role in the SR5 million jewelry theft.

Col. Atti bin Attiyah Al-Qarashi, spokesman of the Makkah police, said a team led by Maj. Gen. Masood Al-Adwani was formed to nab the culprits. After investigation, it was proved that one of the women used social media as a tool to carry out the theft. The jewelry pieces were returned to their rightful owners within 24 hours of the theft.

The mother is in her 50s while the daughter in her 30s, both Arabs. Col. Al-Qarashi urged people to avoid dealings on unauthorized social media to be safe from con.
