Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has lambasted Iran for trying to politicize the recent tragedies in Makkah and Mina, saying it was an attempt to create dissension and division in the Muslim world.

This would not affect the Kingdom’s role and its duty and responsibilities toward pilgrims, King Salman said while chairing the Cabinet’s weekly session at Al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh on Monday.

The king briefed the Cabinet on his talks with President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi of Yemen, confirming the Kingdom’s full support for the country’s “legitimate government.”

Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi said in a statement to the SPA following the session that the Cabinet ministers thanked the king for announcing support for the injured and families of the deceased resulting from Makkah’s crane crash.

Al-Toraifi said the Cabinet authorized the crown prince, deputy premier and minister of interior, or his deputy, to discuss with the Philippine side an extradition draft agreement.

The Cabinet approved the establishment of a Commission for Job Generation and Anti-Unemployment linked to the President of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
