The Ebsar Foundation for rehabilitation and vision impairment services, a non-profitable foundation, with the cooperation of Magrabi Hospital and Centers, launched their annual campaign for the elderly under the slogan “Eye Care for Elderly People.”

Mohammad Tawfik Bellow, secretary general and the driving force of the foundation, said they launched this program free of cost for the elderly who are over 60 years, who do not work and do not have medical insurance.

He explained that this program comes within the eyesight programs of Ebsar to combat blindness and visual impairments that can be avoided and implemented by beneficiaries for free.

He also said that the Magrabi Hospital will follow up the results of eye testing, processes and inventory reports for use in scientific studies and research.

He said the Magrabi Hospital will deal with such elderly people through a special counter at the hospital to facilitate their handling.

Mutasim Alireza, board member of Ebsar and general manager of Magrabi Hospitals and Centers, said this program is aimed to provide free eye checkups for more than 500 patients, even if surgeries need to be performed.

He said the Ebsar foundation has launched a program of early detection of vision problems in children.

The campaign is part of the of the Ebsar national program for early detection of vision problems in children “Eye Spy 2020.”
