Four girls run away from Jeddah shelter
Police are searching for four girls who ran away from the Hospitality House of the Jeddah Social Affairs Directorate a few days ago.
The head of the directorate, Abdullah Al-Tawi, confirmed that the girls broke the emergency door and left the premises, and nobody knows where they went. He also emphasized that they ran away from the Hospitality House and not the Protection House, as was incorrectly reported earlier. According to Al-Tawi, their stay in the Hospitality House was a voluntary act on their part. He explained that the Hospitality House is for girls who have a problem with their parents, leading them to stay in the house until a better understanding is reached with their parents or until they get married.
House Director Ibrisam Al-Dalleihi said that the four girls have served out their prison time and are merely being hosted by the Hospitality House until they can be rehabilitated and go back to their parents, or into marital relationships.
She stressed that parents and families must cooperate with their daughters and open their hearts to them in circumstance like this, rather than continuing to treat them strictly, because the gates of repentance are open to everybody. This case is the first of its kind since the House was opened three years ago. The House is in contact with the police to trace the girls.
