JCCI, police plan joint security operations
The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and the Jeddah police recently had a meeting related to safety and security, in regards to security guards and their management.
The meeting was attended by several representatives of the security guards, security guard management committees and Jeddah police.
The meeting emphasized on all companies that are involved in the safety and security business that they should register with JCCI for administrative settings and to find a suitable mechanism for establishment of operations.
Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al-Shehri, chairman of the security guards and management of security guards committee at JCCI, and Sgt. Ahmad Khadr Al-Zahrani from the Jeddah police department, discussed issues relating to licenses.
Al-Zahrani said all departments such as the municipality, Civil Defense, traffic and tourism, educational, industrial and other sectors, which issue licenses for security guard companies should consult with the police before issuing approval, to make sure a contract is not fake and should have contracts before issuing licenses.
In the meeting, almost 26 security companies and security institutes registered with JCCI, and around 120 companies and institutes registered with police were advised to comply with administrative rules and regulations.
The discussions on issuing licenses, requirements for the presence of security guards, importance of Jeddah police review of the licenses and contracts, obstacles of the sector and solutions were discussed.
