Nation prays for rain

Prayers for rain were held across the Kingdom on Thursday at mosques, schools and universities, under the orders of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

Imams of various mosques and the royal court urged Muslims to seek favor from Allah by behaving according to the precepts laid down in the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him), seek forgiveness and give charity.

In the capital, Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar performed the prayers at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque, which were led by Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh.

In Makkah, the prayer was performed at the Grand Mosque and attended by Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed. In Madinah, the prayer was performed at the Prophet’s Mosque and attended by Madinah Deputy Gov. Abdulmohsen bin Mohammed Al-Muneef.

An official from the Saudi Wildlife Authority told Arab News that rain would be good for wildlife and plants across the country.
