Taiba University, under the aegis of Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman, has launched a program aimed at preventing the youth from being influenced by extremist organizations and ideologies.

It is being conducted in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue and is taking place at the university’s conference hall. It was launched by Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Mazrou’, head of the university.

In his speech at the opening of the event recently, Al-Mazrou’ said the program includes training, workshops, meetings and debates over five days. He said there was need to build a generation of young people who follow a moderate path. This can only be achieved with the support of the education system, he said.

The first workshop was on how to protect young people from extremist views found on the Internet and was presented by academics Said Al-Amoudi and Basma Jastina. Around 70 academics from Taiba University took part in the discussions.

The youth-oriented dialogue program is aimed at university students, with the participation of academics and members of the broader community. It aims to ensure that there is continued dialogue on these issues facing the country’s youth.
