Your personal information ‘is safe’

National Information Center

Spokesman of the National Information Center at the Interior Ministry Mohammed Al-Asiri has said that the Kingdom is one of the most successful countries in the world in terms of “digital targeting.”

“We monitor new developments in the field of technology constantly and work hard to secure the protection of citizen’s devices and their personal information networks,” he said.

Al-Asiri said the National Information Center works to create a safe identity system through the use of a password and unified username, meaning that citizens do not need to go to a government agency to submit their paperwork each time they wish to do something.

The official emphasized that rather than entailing layoffs, the employees of the public sector have instead been assigned to follow-up and monitoring duties for the new program.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry is now partnering with the data system of the Civil Service, which will allow them to generate concise electronic reports including the information of all new citizens when they are born.

Through this process, a citizen can check the validity of the name chosen for their new born in the online data system through the electronic service “Absher”, removing the need to go the Civil Status Department in person.
