Hotel receives ‘special’ guests
Twenty youngsters at the Disabled Children’s Association (DCA) recently got first-hand experience about the hospitality industry and also a healthy break from the monotonies of life.
The special guests and their teachers were accorded a rousing welcome by the staff of the Sheraton Hotel here. The children showed keen interest when they were taken around by the hotel staff, including led by training manager Carlos Ollero, HR director Mohamad Beydoun, and Matthias Paans, director of rooms.
“The aim of the visit is to widen the horizons of the children who are also pupils in consonance with the goals of the DCA headed by Prince Sultan bin Salman,” one of their teachers told Arab News.
The teachers included Noura Al Homaedan, Hana Al-Dallak, and Farah Adam. Some of the children’s parents were also with them.
The teachers said the visit “is part of the education of the children who will graduate and leave the DCA when they reach the age of 12.” Earlier, the pupils also visited a museum in the Saudi capital.
One of the children, 10-year-old Mazen Al-Mutairi, showed great interest while they were touring the hotel’s ground floor.
Gerald Chevasson, hotel general manager, expressed happiness over the children’s visit and expressed the hope that “some of them could work with us when they grow up.”
He also said, “I hope their visit is an experience that will make a difference in their lives.”
