Saudi King Salman on Saturday sent a cable of condolence to French President Francois Hollande.

Saudi King Salman on Saturday sent a cable of condolence to French President Francois Hollande after a series of deadly attacks claimed 129 people in the capital Paris, the state-owned Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

“We learned about the pain and the sadness of the terrorist attacks in Paris… We express our condemnation for this repugnant terrorist act and offer our condolences to your excellency, the French people and the families of the victims,” SPA quoted King Salman as saying. The Saudi king is currently in Turkey for the G20 Summit.

The king also said he hoped for a “speedy recovery” for the 300 injured people, “urging for an international concerted effort to fight this dangerous scourge – unaccepted by any religion and international norms – and to rid the international community of its evils.”

Meanwhile, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Nayef, who is also the first deputy prime minister and the minister of interior, sent a cable to offer his condolences, condemning “the criminal act.”

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who is also the second deputy prime minister and minister of defense, reiterated the similar sentiments, and offered his condolences and wished the wounded a quick recovery.
