Yemen’s President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi on Tuesday returned to Aden from exile in Saudi Arabia, a day after a military offensive was launched against the militias, a presidential source said.

After landing in the provisional capital, he went straight to the palace to “supervise” the offensive, which is aimed at retaking rebel-controlled Taez province.

It was not immediately clear how long Hadi would stay in the country or whether his visit would herald the return of his exiled administration, which is based in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
