Egyptian authorities have announced that flights between Egypt and Russia will resume, headed to Cairo within days.

The Russian government has suspended its ban on flights destined for Egypt days after they sought deeper reassurances about the security arrangements at Cairo’s airport.

In addition, the Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, Hossam Kamal, along with British Ambassador, John Casson said UK delegations had visited the airport regularly for the all-clear for flights to Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh.

John Casson added that the economic status between the two countries would not be affected, and that the first priority continues to be the safety of British citizens traveling to Sharm el-Sheikh, which remains the popular choice of destinations.
