Prince Saud’s services recalled
The Arab International Relations Council in Kuwait recently honored the late Prince Saud Al-Faisal for his contribution to regional and global diplomacy.
Those in attendance included Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, acting premier and foreign minister of Kuwait, Prince Sultan bin Salman, president of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Abdulaziz bin Ibrahim Al-Fayez, and several other officials and diplomats.
Al-Sabah paid tribute to the late Prince Saud saying he spent his life serving his country and Arab and Muslim nations, which included efforts to help maintain international peace and stability, according to a report in a local publication.
He said the Kuwaiti Cabinet has decided to name a major landmark in Kuwait after Prince Saud for his services to humanity. The country would soon identify a suitable landmark, he was quoted as saying by a local newspaper.
He said Prince Saudi has shown he was an excellent statesman over the years. “He combined wisdom and good judgment over four consecutive decades for his country,” said Al-Sabah. The prince was known for his ethical behavior, generosity, inherent nobility and leadership, he said.
