The labor office in Onaizah, Qassim province, has resolved a dispute between about 200 cleaning workers and their employer.

The workers had gone on a strike protesting against an increase in their work hours and constant delays in payment of monthly wages.

Onaizah police informed the city’s labor office, which in turn sent officials to resolve the matter. The officials met the two sides to investigate why the workers stopped work.

The head of labor office in Qassim province, Turki Al-Manie, said the officers met with three representatives of the workers and listened to their grievances.

He said the officers advised the workers to go back to work and come to the labor office on Sunday along with a representative from the cleaning company to ensure that their demands are met.

The labor office also asked the employer to produce a document showing that all outstanding salaries are paid to the employees and warned him against violating the labor regulations.

The main demands of the workers included they be allowed to work in single shifts, one-day paid weekly off and payment of their wages on time.
