Michelle Yeoh reprises role in ‘Crouching Tiger’ sequel

Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh says she has been waiting many years to reprise her role in “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.”

The sequel to the supernatural martial arts film, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny,” centers around the protection of a legendary sword. It also stars Donnie Yen, Harry Shum Jr. and Jason Scott Lee.

The original was filmed in Mandarin. The sequel is in English and will be dubbed into Mandarin for its release in China.

Yeoh appeared Tuesday at an event in Beijing launching the sequel alongside director Yuen Woo-ping and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who plays Yeoh’s apprentice.

“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny” will be released in theaters on Feb. 8 in China and on Feb. 26 in the US on Netflix and in selected theaters.
