Novel approach to boost economy
The Council for Economic and Development Affairs, led by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, second deputy premier and defense minister, has been running several initiatives to consult citizens and decision-makers about economic issues.
The initiative was started by the secretariat of the council after a workshop held last Wednesday, which included Prince Mohammad meeting participants. The exercise included the formation of several groups on WhatsApp, which is being used to exchange ideas on how to develop the economy.
The participants included academics, journalists, writers, businesspeople, poets and representatives of various organizations. The groups covered social development, empowerment of the private sector, and improvement of government performance.
