Businessmen urged to select Asir region for new investment

Asir Gov. Prince Faisal bin Khalid has called on businessmen to invest in the region and assured that any obstacles in the process will be removed.

Prince Faisal pledged continued support to project in the region and stressed the importance of organizing business forums and meetings in this regard. He underscored the role of the Asir Governorate to create convenient investment environment that will promote industry and commerce and create job opportunities for young Saudis.

He urged businessmen to help create job opportunities and thus enable young Saudis to serve their country. The Asir governor stressed the importance of taking advantage of the comparative advantages of the region in a variety of areas, notably in commerce, tourism, agriculture and industry. He said Asir Region will host Abha Investment Forum on Dec. 23, which will focus on the overall economic development, and the construction sector in particular in the region and its affiliated provinces.

The forum aims to explore ways to improve the region’s investment environment, he added.

He said the Investment Council has a key role in stimulating government and public institutions to call for investment and remove obstacles, and thus make the region an attractive destination for investors in all areas. He affirmed that Asir’s investment environment is attractive for the availability of the comparative advantages allocated and supported by the wise leadership, which will be reflected positively in the creation of job opportunities for youths.

Abha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Chairman Abdullah Al-Mabti affirmed ACCI’s support to the business sector and projects that will promote investment activity in the region, in response to the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

Despite the region’s all-round developments, the organization of the forum indicates the strength of the Kingdom’s economy and its high capability to deal firmly with such challenges, global economic crisis and fluctuations of oil prices, he said.
