Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman on Monday briefed the Cabinet over the phone call he received from the king of Bahrain, the call he made to the president of Nigeria, and the results of his talks with the chairman of the Presidency Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Culture and Information Minister Adel Al-Toraifi said the Cabinet also reviewed the latest developments in the region and the results of regional and international meetings, including the outcomes of the second meeting of the Saudi-Egyptian Coordination Council, which would see an increase in Saudi investments, and Egypt’s support for more Saudi ships to travel through the Suez Canal.

The ministers praised the participants, who included co-chairmen Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail Mohammed, for working on efforts to boost mutual development.

On domestic affairs, the Cabinet welcomed the Royal Order on forming the Banking Disputes Committee, the Appeals Committee for Banking Disputes, and committees for settlement of finance disputes and irregularities.

The Cabinet also took several decisions, including approving a memorandum of understanding on tourism between the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage and Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism, which was signed in Cairo last year.

The Cabinet authorized the Ministry of Defense to discuss and sign with Tunisia a draft agreement on cooperation in defense; and authorized the Ministry of Finance to sign a draft protocol to amend the agreement concluded between Saudi Arabia and Austria on avoidance of double taxation on income and capital, and preventing tax evasion, which was signed in Riyadh earlier this year.

The Cabinet further authorized the Ministry of Water and Electricity to discuss and sign with Mauritania a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation; and authorized King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology to discuss and sign a scientific agreement with Belarus.

The Cabinet decided to gradually move the headquarters of the General Authority for Civil Aviation from Jeddah to Riyadh over 18 months; and authorized the National Anti-Corruption Commission to discuss and sign an agreement with the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Austria.
