Forum discusses impact of FDI on Saudi market

Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majid recently inaugurated the Fourth Jeddah Business Forum titled “With the Partnership and Investment, We Build the Future.” An exhibition was also organized on the sidelines of the forum as well as a film shown about the forum.

In her speech, Nashwa Tahir, forum chair, emphasized the partnership between private and public sector through dialogue. She also highlighted the importance of creating business environment to attract foreign investments and facing major challenges and problems which are weakening the investment process.

Saleh Kamil, chairman of the board of directors of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also delivered a speech.

The forum, on Tuesday, discussed the role of the Integrated Development Center in the development of Makkah, the developmental projects of the region, impact of foreign direct investment on Saudi market and expanding the base of Saudi investment.

The forum also discusses the strategic role of the Ports’ Authority in implementing the decision about foreign investment opportunities and economic implications of opening up the Saudi market for foreign investment. Those who participated in the discussions were Saad Mariq, Abdullah bin Masood, Fahad Abu Humaid and Nabeel Al-Amoudi.
