Hiding Saher cameras is illegal, says traffic official

Saher-monitoring

Hiding Saher cameras is a violation and strict action will be taken against those found doing this without any discrimination, Brig. Nawaf Al-Muhamadi, traffic director of Madinah, has said.

Al-Muhamadi denied the existence of offices for the settlement of fines. He asserted that a new building will be inaugurated for this this purpose, and it will be affiliated to the Madinah Traffic Department and located near the Maternity Hospital in the city.

According to local media, the traffic director was responding to queries of citizens via the “Madinah Phone” program. He explained with total transparency the detailed coordination with the secretariat of the province concerning the geographical nature of the region and how such distinguished features impose more traffic pressures that require the cooperation of citizens and residents with the authorities.

“Our campaigns are still continuing against motorists who violate traffic laws and transport passengers,” he said. He also promised the residents in the west of the city that their sufferings would end soon after the overpass project on the intersection of the University Road with Al-Salam Street is completed.

Abu Sara, a citizen who participated in the program, said some traffic personnel standing near the traffic light arbitrarily and randomly impose fines. The traffic director explained that fines are not imposed on disciplined motorist and that only violators of rules are fined.
