Technology integration center to boost services for pilgrims
Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal stressed on installing the latest technology to link all departments for the service of pilgrims.
He emphasized the development of services for pilgrims with the installation of the latest technology to facilitate them to make their spiritual journey easy and obstacle-free during his meeting with Dr. Khalid Hussein Biyare, CEO of Saudi Telecom (STC), and a number of company employees at his office.
He said that the Kingdom’s leadership, government and people’s ultimate goal is to provide all means of comfort to pilgrims both in accordance with modern technology systems to ease their journey starting from their home country, and removing all obstacles to reach Makkah and the holy sites, taking into account providing all services without any delays or problems.
Prince Khaled concluded the meeting with an emphasis on the importance of developing an action plan with STC to link the latest technology with all pilgrim programs to serve the pilgrims in Makkah.
Dr. Biyare described the idea of establishing a developmental integration center in Makkah for the development of services for pilgrims with the partnership of private and public sectors for development and implementation of pilot projects which will contribute to the development of Makkah.
Dr. Saad Marak Nabda, supervisor for the developmental integration center, explained that the objectives and goals of the center will be to take part in the development of the Makkah region, and stimulate the partnership between the public and the private sectors to contribute in the development of Makkah region and overcome all obstacles.
The strategic plan and objectives of the center will have three main points to follow up on: Implementation of projects, overcoming obstacles, and encouraging investment.
The plans will include follow up on the implemented projects, checking on project performance, reviewing programs, addressing the causes of delay in projects, coordination between relevant authorities and investors and classifying priority projects in accordance with the project selection criteria.
