Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal along with Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed chaired a workshop with the participation of 40 entities in development of services and facilities for pilgrims on Tuesday at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah.

Prince Khaled, who is the chairman of the Central Haj Committee, congratulated the leadership of the country on the new state budget and said that the citizens and residents of the Kingdom are enjoying security and safety and wish Allah will protect the Kingdom and leadership and help in continuing progress and development.

He said “this country was established on the basis of the Qur’an and Sunnah, it has the honor to bear the responsibility of the Two Holy Mosques and services for pilgrims, and the best proof is that the king is addressed as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, which also indicates the importance of Haj and Umrah, and the government is giving importance to all aspects of Haj and Umrah.”

He said that “is an honor for the Saudi government to serve the pilgrims for which we thank Allah.”

He said that the government established the Ministry for Haj, the Supreme Haj Committee, the Central Haj Committee and other departments for serving pilgrims in the best possible manner and that the government made it a priority for all other ministries to provide the best service and facilities to pilgrims since this country was founded by King Abdulaziz, may Allah bless his soul, and the responsibilities have been handed down to all kings after him.

The Kingdom spared no effort in serving the pilgrims with best facilities — development of transportation, development of the holy sites projects, Makkah development and turning Makkah into a smart city — are part of the government projects to provide best facilities and services to the pilgrims.

He further said that the government and people of the Kingdom never hesitate to take and fulfil the responsibilities and whole world will see the potential the Kingdom has through the development of the services and facilities for the pilgrims of Haj and Umrah.

He said the world witnesses the work accomplished by the government during the five days of Haj when more than 3 million pilgrims arrive and during Umrah season, but still there is need for more work.

He said the things on paper are always different than in reality; any incident needs immediate action, a quick solution and an appropriate decision on the spot to handle the situation, and unity among all the departments under one umbrella.

The prince also asserted that the Supreme Haj Committee, the Central Haj Committee and ministry did not fail to perform their tasks; there was no compromise on public security during Haj 1436.

The participants of the workshop discussed plans that were implemented to facilitate and provide services to pilgrims during Haj season 1436, its performance and made recommendations on developing services and facilities for the coming Umrah season and Haj 1437 with the participation of the private sector.
