A new cold wave has hit the Kingdom, with temperatures falling below zero in six regions on Sunday. They are Tabuk, the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Hail, Qassim and Hafr Al-Batin.

Weather officials said the low temperatures will continue throughout Monday to include most areas in the western region.

Madinah will be the most severely affected area, while it is expected that Makkah and Jeddah will record temperatures between 15 and 17 degrees Celsius, with substantial rain expected by the end of the week.

Spokesman for Presidency of Meteorology and Environmental Protection Hussein Al-Qahtani said: “The Saudi airspace is continuing to experience low temperatures, especially in the areas located in the north and west of the Kingdom.” He said low temperatures will be accompanied by winds blowing at up to 50 kilometers per hour, especially in the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Tabuk, Hail, Medinah, and Makkah.
