KKIA reports high growth
King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) disclosed on Sunday that more than 22 million passengers arrived in the airport in 2015, indicating a high growth rate in the total number of passengers.
The announcement came as the General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) prepared to announce new, important projects this week as part of its effort to provide world-class services for travelers.
According to its recent report, there was approximately a 6.8 percent growth rate in 2015 compared to the previous year in terms of passenger numbers. The difference in growth in the total number of domestic and international flights in 2015 was up 4.8 percent compared to last year. KKIA said that the number of domestic and international passengers (for both arrivals and departures) in 2015 stood at 22.3 million passengers compared to 20.9 million in 2014.
The report further noted that about 185,900 international flights and departures were registered last year, compared to only 177,400 trips in 2014. Domestic flights recorded a total of 11.7 million passengers last year compared to 10.9 million in 2014.
