30 festivals lined up during winter break
Holiday destinations in all provinces across the Kingdom are ready for the busy tourism season as mid-term exams are over and the winter break began with Thursday being the last working day at Saudi schools.
The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTNH) in partnership with local authorities in all provinces are in full swing with their preparations to host winter festivals.
“We are ready to host about 30 tourist festivals across the Kingdom which vary between social, heritage, sports, recreational and cultural activities to enthrall all sections of society during winter vacation,” said an SCTNH official on Thursday.
Moreover, acknowledging the significance of the busy tourist season, the department of licensing and quality assurance at SCTNH has intensified its efforts for a successful season.
“Efforts are intensified to step up monitoring of hotels and furnished apartments by inspection teams across the Kingdom to ensure a smooth and successful vacation,” said the official.
According to an official of Riyadh Municipality, all concerned departments have been instructed to keep in top condition and even upgrade all places students might frequent in their leisure time, including public parks, walkways and playgrounds.
Moreover, the Eastern Province is ready to hold distinct festivals on the occasion which include the Noayriyah Spring Festival, AlKhobar Tourist Festival, “Al-Hasa Action” adventure festival and the Souk Khaisariah Festival in Al-Ahsa.
Hail province will host the week-long Hail International Sahara Festival beginning on Thursday, whereas Al-Qassim region will host the Spring Festival in Buraidah and Alghada Festival in Onaizah.
