An alert Saudi Arabian Airlines pilot was able to prevent a disaster at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai when he noticed a tire blowout of his plane.

According to an Indian newspaper, the Saudia Boeing 700-200 had a tire blowout as it was preparing for takeoff. A source at the airport said the pilot noticed the fumes and informed the airport authorities. He then switched off the engine.

Airport officials said no passenger was injured or harmed in the incident, and it took an hour to get the plane off the runway.
