Around 600 women from productive families apart from 300 economists and experts will be among those attending a forum on productive families at a hotel here on Jan. 18.

The forum, to be organized under the patronage of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, will offer a platform to discuss new programs and initiatives, including facilities and incentives for small enterprises.

The officials of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) as well as government and official bodies of different business sectors are also scheduled to attend the event.

Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Hamdan, chairman of the forum and National Gallery adviser, said that coordination is under way between the JCCI’s Supreme Committee for Productive Families and Makkkah governorate to achieve success for the fifth edition of the productive families’ forum.

He said they aim to consolidate the economic concept of the activities of productive families and make it one of the pillars of the national economy, rehabilitate them professionally, administratively, and financially and also raise the quality of the products according to regional and international standards and market them.

Al-Hamdan said there are almost 5,000 productive families in Jeddah and the forum’s objective is to help them and enable their participation in the Kingdom’s economy, besides encouraging them to contribute in sustainable development.
