Well-known Saudi scholar and TV host Mohsin Shaikh Al-Hassan issued a statement on Monday urging all Arabs and Muslims to boycott Iranian products.

“I urge all Arabs and Muslims to boycott all Iranian products such as food, clothes, vegetables as well as services. Iran has been promoting terrorism,” Al-Hassan said.

The Saudi scholar issued the statement after senior Arab officials called on Arab states to take measures against Iran in an attempt to rein in its foreign policy behavior.

He said that Iran had a strong relationship with Arab countries in the past but had not exerted efforts to maintain and engender it.

He said that Iran had earlier occupied three islands belonging to the United Arab Emirates.

“It has also been intervening in the affairs of every state in the GCC by sending terrorist followers,” he said.

He said that these people were sent to Bahrain under the guise of tourism but caused terrorism once they were there. They were also sent to Syria. They were armed and fought on the side of the Syrian government, he said.

He added that these people were also sent to Iraq and Yemen to commit terrorist acts, adding that they come from various countries like Sudan, Yemen and Djibouti, among others.
