Group behind bloody social media prank thrown in jail

The men who allegedly posted a fake video clip on social media showing a boy being slaughtered by his father to please his guests are cooling their heels behind bars.
The gory scene in the video evoked sharp reactions from people on social media, with some wondering how on earth can anyone think about such a prank. The pranksters used some liquid resembling blood and showed the boy being “slaughtered” and his “father” washing the hands after the job is “accomplished.”
Fawwaz Maiman, the media spokesman of Riyadh police, said that with reference to the video clip, directives had been issued to the Criminal Investigation Bureau to quickly identify and arrest those involved in making the video.
“The suspects, in their twenties and thirties, were arrested and referred to the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution for further investigation,” he said.
The police have issued a warning against such irresponsible behavior, saying that it sends out a bad impression to the world.
