Support for productive families urged
Jeddah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Majed has urged the city’s people to buy the goods of productive families.
Speaking at the fifth edition of the productive families’ forum and exhibition earlier this week, on behalf of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Prince Mishaal praised these citizens because he said they were contributing to the country with their creativity and professionalism.
Officials from the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and government agencies toured the exhibition with Prince Mishaal. The three-day event was organized by the JCCI.
More than 600 productive families and 300 economists and experts participated in the forum and exhibition, which included several initiatives to boost small enterprises in the city.
Mazen Batterjee, vice president of the JCCI, said productive families were one of the pillars of the national economy, so it was important to support them on all fronts, including buying and marketing their products.
Battejee also said there has been 16 workshops and training courses held to help develop the competitiveness of these families, whose products include fashion accessories, jewelry, homemade Hijazi cakes and sweets, Hijazi food, homemade soups, embroidered clothes, bed sheets and perfumes.
Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Hamdan, chairman of the forum and National Gallery adviser, said the launch of the forum was to support almost 5,000 productive families in Jeddah.
