Security officers have foiled attempts to smuggle big amounts of dangerous drugs to the kingdom through Qatar, the Ministry of Interior said on Sunday.
In a statement, the ministry said that Saudi security officials in cooperation with the Qatari Interior Ministry carried out two operations and seized a total of 2.67 million amphetamine pills.
A Saudi citizen driving a car used for the smuggling attempt had been arrested and efforts are now underway to identify his partners, the ministry said.
