King, crown prince send greetings to president of India
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has sent a cable of greetings to Indian President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of the 67th Republic Day of that country. In his cable, the King wished Mukherjee good health and happiness, as well as steady progress and prosperity for the people of India.
Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, and Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, also sent similar cables of greetings to the president of India.
Flag-hoisting at Indian missions
As part of the Republic Day festivities, Charge d’Affaires Hemant Kotalwar will hoist the National Flag at the Embassy of India premises in Riyadh, Tuesday.
The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m and is open to all members of Indian community in the Kingdom and friends of India, a press release issued by the embassy said.
In Jeddah, Consul General B. S. Mubarak will unfurl the National Tricolor at 9.30 a.m. and read out excerpts from President Mukherjee’s message to the nation in the occasion.
Cultural program off
Due to the unfortunate death of Fawaz Ismail, a student of Grade XII, all cultural programs at the International Indian School – Jeddah have been canceled.
The body of Fawaz, who breathed his last in Erfan Bagedo Hospital after a road accident, was buried at Rowais Najd cemetery Monday afternoon.
