Saudi envoy boosts cultural ties with Malaysia universities
Saudi Ambassador Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Rasheed recently held talks with Malaysian university administrators on ways of engendering cultural cooperation and scientific research.
The meeting was held to “bolster bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the cultural and scientific fields, and to serve Saudi as well as Arab students in the Asian country’s colleges and universities.”
Zayed Al-Harthy from the Saudi cultural attaché’s office, members of the diplomatic corps and other invited guests attended the meeting.
He inquired about Saudi students doing various courses in different universities and colleges in the country and discussed the challenges faced by them and the assistance that could be extended to them.
Records show that there are 2,500 Saudi students in different universities in Malaysia, many of whom are studying under the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program.
The event was a culmination of Al-Rasheed’s efforts in meeting with the Asian country’s officials, with the “end in view of facilitating the issuance of visas for scholarship students.”
Talking about the meeting, the Saudi envoy described it as “good.”
“The meeting was fruitful. We had effective communication and interaction with the Malaysian university officials who promised to extend every assistance possible to Saudi students,” he said.
